Autumn is always such a romantic time of year and this year is no exception with all this gorgeous sun we’ve been having! The colours have been simply gorgeous and I know we will be enjoying these stunning Autumn hues everywhere we go throughout Vancouver while they are still here. Clearly, Brittany+ Colton love Autumn as well, since they booked their Lighthouse Park engagement photo session back in May. At St Claire of Assisi Catholic Church in Coquitlam, Rachel and Gino had their Catholic wedding ceremony. Their priest who married them had created such a personalized ceremony and as you’ll see in the photos, was so kind and warm to Rachel and Gino overstep of the way. Perhaps he sensed their nerves and knew how to guide them along the way- that part we’ll never know, but it sure was a pretty special wedding ceremony. We captured many beautiful moments during their wedding ceremony, and we especially just love this moment that Justin photographed at the start of their ceremony with Gino, Rachel and her Dad giving her away. It’s such a powerful and meaningful moment that I’m sure Rachel’s Dad, Gino and Rachel will never forget. After their wedding ceremony, we headed down to Barnett Marine Park for their wedding photos with their bridal party for some fresh air by the sea. After that they celebrated at the Vancouver Golf Club with friends and family….some of which shared some hilarious stories and had everyone, including us, dying with laughter!
On a perfectly lovely summer evening, we had an easy stroll with Eileen + Dan for their engagement photo session in Yaletown. If it looks relaxed, it’s because it was! They are such a nice and chill couple, that it really did just feel like a walk with friends….with a few photos taken along the way! 🙂
One of our favourite places to go is Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver, so when Jannelle + Kurt wanted to go there for their engagement photo session, we were all for it! A walk in a beautiful forest with massive old growth trees, suited us all so nicely on the warm summer eve. Hope you enjoy our relaxed photo stroll and sunset views with these two. Gosh, as I sit down here to write this post and look back at these photos, I’m reminded of so many truly awesome, sweet moments from Emily + Brad’s wedding day. I posted a lot, I know, sorry. We just enjoyed their day so much and I feel like between Justin and my photographs, there were so many golden moments captured that we wanted to share. Their whole wedding day took place in Yaletown, so we could easily walk from hotel to their wedding day photo session, to their wedding ceremony in Yaletown, all by foot. I love that, because it opened up opportunities of spontaneous random acts of kindness by strangers as we walked around. 🙂 Emily started the day with her girls getting elegantly ready at the Opus Hotel in Yaletown, meanwhile the guys weren’t far down the road, but had such a different getting ready experience at Barber and Co. getting all shaved up while playing billiards. Even the wee ring bearer got a quasi-shaving experience. 🙂 It was so sweet that he was included too! Emily and Brad had their wedding day first look quietly in a small square in Yaletown and then we continued with their wedding party and then just the two of them for their wedding photo session in Yaletown. We then continued our easy stroll to their wedding ceremony at The Roundhouse. Emily and Brad were so pleased to be married by their friend and pastor, Matt Menzel from Westside Church, who brought their faith to the forefront in a touching and personalized wedding ceremony with their friends and family around them. The red brick walls of The Roundhouse and the skyscrapers tall around them, made for a really unique urban backdrop to their cocktail party…along with the super tasty popsicle-cocktails they had! Emily was truly a DIY bride who created so many details together with her friends. She made the bouquets (and so much more) and friends helped with etching the vases, making signage, her cake + cupcakes, MC etc were all done by friends! Oh and her cousin was her planner! Go team! (and i know I’ve missed so many other talented people who helped) Emily and Brad had an impressive first dance which kicked off a great night of awesome moves for their great celebratory party!
