Before heading over to Brock House to get married, Carly and Kyler’s wedding day started off in beautiful hotels in downtown Vancouver. When I arrived to photograph all 7 gals at the Fairmont Pacific Rim, I hadn’t expected to walk into such a calm, yet super fun and supportive group of women. High above the city with gorgeous views of Stanley Park, Carly and her bridesmaids had their makeup done outside on the balcony by Denise Elliott Beauty Co. Not a bad way to start the day ( and i think that part really helped with the calm!) Carly had a gorgeous stripe wedding dress by Hayley Paige, it was the kind of dress that screamed to have a super fun time! The guys each had real bow ties to tie and some managed, while others took advantage of the On-Call-Bow-Tie-Tying-Expert at the Four Seasons. I swear that man saved the day and kept the wedding on time!

At Brock House, Carly and her dad, proudly walked across the lawn to meet Kyler under the big oak tree to be married. It was a great ceremony by Vancouver Officiant and I say it was great because their ceremony had a lot of laughter which made their ceremony light, entertaining and engaging. In addition to photographing Carly + Kyler’s experience of getting married, we do love to capture the guests having an authentically awesome time during the ceremony too and their ceremony had that!

They had a cocktail hour on the lawn by the sea and during that time, we slipped way for a quick bride + groom photo session with just Carly + Kyler on the property at Brock House and caught some golden sunshine on Jericho beach for photos too.

Memorable wedding speeches were delivered, awesome Earnest Ice Cream was had by all and they danced the night away…..surprisingly to a lot of rap music (turns out Carly is a big fan!)

Several months ago, Kelsey + Andrew came by to pick up their wedding album. Sure, it was a super rainy, winter Vancouver day outside, but inside we forgot about it all, and simply enjoyed reliving their summer sunny wedding day in their beautiful and elegant wedding photo book. It was also a really lovely visit, as they shared with us many of the reasons why they chose us to be their wedding photographers. Hearing that they felt they had received great value for all our hard work, passion and creativity, while blending in with their family personalities and capturing their wedding photos that they love so much, was so great to hear. It was our pleasure!

This was one very, very wet and rainy Vancouver engagement photo session.

Bessie and Eddie were cosy under their umbrella, as they should have been. Snuggling and enjoying each others company is certainly a nice way to spend with with your hubby/wife To-Be. We were however well prepared for rain and Justin and I got poured down upon and gleefully muddy. Normally we’d have rescheduled their engagement pictures, but since we were all there and their wedding was fast approaching, we thought let’s see how we do with this weather, it is Vancouver after all, and embrace the rain! And it all turned out great!

We spent most of their engagement photo session in Crab Park and enjoyed the serene space and calm park, despite being right in downtown Vancouver.

As luck would have it, we met these two for their Vancouver engagement photo session in Gastown, only minutes after a torrential downpour. Had we started even 15mins earlier, we’d have all looked quite soggy and less awesome! But like I said, we were lucky and had a dry and lovely casual photo shoot with Ilana and Scott one evening a week ago. Here are a few photos from their Gastown engagement photo session, which was taken only about a block away from where they had their first date ever. 🙂
