Those of you that are regular readers of our blog will have no doubt noticed that we haven’t posted in awhile and well, that’s because we’ve been a little bit busy. 🙂 On March 21st, 2012 we welcomed to the world our little baby girl Zoe Victoria Eckersall. She has kept us super busy, we are so in love with her and it’s been a fun new adventure so far, despite the lack of sleep!

baby_newborn_photography(She was slow to regain her birth weight, so in an attempt to weigh her at home and check on her progress, we pulled out the kitchen scales and salad bowl! 🙂

Catherine and Adam were really excited to head up to Mt. Seymour for a snowy winter engagement session.  And wow did it snow! Our time up there felt like we were hanging out inside a giant snow globe, which made for a super fun session, yet romantic at the same time.  Anyhow, we just wanted to post a few photographs to share with you from their Vancouver snowy photo shoot today.

Christine and Ryan wanted to do something a little different for their wedding. They were married in a castle!  Hatley Castle near Victoria is a stunning and magical wedding location found right by the ocean overlooking the Olympic Mountains and surrounded by gardens. They chose to have a smaller, intimate and elegant wedding and whole feel of the day was relaxed, yet fun and enjoyed by all, including us despite working hard to capture their day for them. I kept feeling like I was a character in the pages of the novel ‘The Great Gatsby”. We just love photographing weddings in Victoria as it’s my home town and it is always great to be back home!

Being big fans of nice wines, they insisted on bringing in some of their favourite wine, Blue Mountain Pinot Blanc from the Okanagan, to share with their guests.

Speeches of true friendship and love were shared, plus a few embarrassing moments sprinkled in for good measure!

Dan and Sharon planned their beautiful day to take place at Brock House at Jericho Beach in Vancouver. This location is one you can’t go wrong with and certainly offers up a luxurious setting for your special day.  They selected orange and purple accents for their wedding and had various details in place to pull all of their Autumn wedding theme details together. Dan and Sharon are a very friendly and kind couple who met in medical school years ago and had their wedding ceremony beneath the gorgeous and massive golden oak tree on the property by the sea.

Sharon’s shoes were awesome! These Jimmy Choo sparkly wedges had me giggling with excitement when I had my time to photograph them. They were just fun, fun fun!

Dan’s attire for the day had great attention to detail. A tailored suit, personalized cuff links and silk screened orange tie.

Dan and Sharon had a first look prior to the ceremony in a quiet location we found for them. It’s a nice option to have your first few moments together quietly so you can chat and it creates a pretty neat experience to add to your day. Plus, having had their portraits taken ahead of time also allowed Dan and Sharon to spend more time enjoying guests at the cocktail hour after their ceremony.

The massive oak tree at Brock House is always a stunning backdrop for a wedding, but here in the Autumn it was truly magnificent!!!

The view from Jericho Beach at sunset is always a special treat and on their wedding day was no exception. We took a few moments for a romantic walk down the beach and enjoyed the golden light of the day for a mini photo session.

What a gorgeous setting for a wedding! They had such perfect luck to have the Fall colours in time for their day and that you really captured that for them! Beautiful photos!ReplyCancel
