Despite Sherry and Allan’s wedding day starting out all just a little cool, gray and wet (with rain), they were determined to have their ceremony outside. Allan’s Dad had told us that he had specifically built their house a few years ago, so that he could host the weddings of Allan and his sister (who is not yet married 😉 on the lawn at home… so the weather was just going to have to cooperate…..and it did! The sky became lighter, the clouds started to break, the red carpet was laid out and so many of their family and friends could be treated to their beautiful ceremony out on the lawn, just as Allan’s Dad had planned for so many years before.
Sherry’s necklace from Hong Kong’s Larry Jewelry and her sparkly, fun shoes to match.
Sherry’s sister stands guard at the door, preventing the guys from coming in the house, while the bridesmaids wait with not-so-nice tasting drinks. The groomsmen were given wasabi tooth paste to wash the not-so-nice tasting drinks away! 😐 Poor guys! But through it all they all laughed and completed all the games and tests and Allan was let in to pick up his bride, Sherry, who was waiting upstairs. Justin and I just love the games at the Chinese weddings, they can be really fun and each wedding seems to be a little different in terms of how easy or difficult the girls decide to make it for the guys… I think that Allan and the boys did pretty good with this one;-)
A beautiful outdoor ceremony location at Allan’s family home, heavy gray clouds overhead.
In addition to capturing the bride and grooms’ wedding experience, we love to see the parents and other guests enjoying the ceremony. I love this photograph of his parents. It’s so telling of how in love they are after many years of marriage and how proud they are of Allan.
During a quick evening portrait session with Sherry and Allan we found a huge painting inside the hotel which we used to create this shot of Sherry.
Four foot tall fuchsia pink orchids made for very beautiful table center pieces and wedding cake, of course!
Sherry and Allan’s were just beaming as they made their entrance into the Crystal Ballroom at the Pan Pacific Hotel. These guys had an amazing Pan Pacific Hotel wedding.
Both Sherry and Allan’s parents were having a blast making the rounds around the ballroom toasting at every table.
A beautiful first dance at the end of a gorgeous wedding day. Congratulations Sherry and Allan!! Thanks for choosing us to be a part of your big day, we were honored!
