Brock House Wedding: Yan + Dalen

Yan and Dalen chose Brock House to host their friends and family for their Vancouver lunch wedding. Because they had a small number of guests, the held their wedding on the side lawn at Brock House overlooking the sea and their reception was upstairs in the Begg Room. We loved that they had their first dance out on the top floor deck!

Dalen is quite the silly, comedic character, so it is easy to see why Yan basically hasn’t stopped laughing and smiling since the day they met! And on their wedding day was no exception! Lots of giggles and laugher all day….although to everyone’s surprise, tears were shed by Dalen when he saw Yan for their First Look of the day. Justin and I felt so lucky to be their and witness and capture that moment for them and all the rest of their all round silly, happy and joyous day!

Engagement photo session in Stanley Park, Vancouver: Suk + Ade

I still remember my first visit to Vancouver as a child and can still recall the amazement I had for the beauty and vastness of Stanley Park. To this day, I still love going there, we go there often and always bring guests there too, where the gorgeous forest park meets the sea, all while right next to big city Vancouver.

Ade chose to propose to Suk in Stanley Park and so we thought Stanley Park would also be the perfect place to also have Suk + Ade’s Vancouver engagement photo session.

They are new to Canada, via London and now call Vancouver their home. They could have chosen to live anywhere, but the fact that they chose to live here, (they could have chosen anywhere) makes me feel extra proud to be a Canadian. 🙂

Suk + Ade are a kind and friendly couple who have a wonderful energy together and they certainly know how to make each other smile. We had an easy relaxing afternoon photo shoot with them, and are looking forward to their wedding day in the Spring.

Olympic Village Engagement Photos: Valerie + Ryan

On a cool and rainy day, (which we seem to have a whole lot of these days) we met up with Valerie, Ryan and their little doggie Bear.

This small dog, with a big personality certainly stole the show. It was meant to be Valerie and Ryan’s rainy day engagement photo session in The Olympic Village, but it very quickly became, Bear’s All About Me Doggie Portrait session, but none of us seemed to mind, as well, he’s so darn cute! And full of pep!

Despite the cold day, we all had a lovely, easy going time together and captured some great shots for Valerie and Ryan. They are getting married later this year at the UBC Boathouse in Richmond.

I love this 1st photo of him suspended in mid-air, running back to Justin and I- we did have the doggie treats after all, so we can’t blame him! 🙂

And Bear wasn’t the only one to get treats, Valerie bribed Ryan with a chocolates at Beta5 Chocolates after their photo session….so further proof, that’s treats as bribery do work!

Wedding in Le Castellet, Provence, France: Céline + Iain

Justin and I were lucky to have the chance to fly to France to photograph Celine and Iain’s wedding in the southern wine growing legion of Provence. We were so honoured and excited to be there for them! (We also happen to enjoy speaking French, have a love of beautiful French wines and French food -hello daily food markets! So, we were in our element.) We flew into Marseilles and then travelled to the region near Aix-en-Provence where their wedding was held.

Celine is from France, but her and Iain have decided to call Vancouver their home. So, although their wedding was a joyous occasion, there were certainly under tones of sadness felt by her family and you can see that in their collection of wedding photographs. We took their wedding photographs in Le Castellet and the region surrounding. Their outdoor wedding reception was held at a family winery called Chateau Les Cancerilles which even had some 1000 year old cellars which blew Justin and my minds. The layers of history we encountered were just amazingly beautiful. We hope you enjoy these photographs of their emotional and memorable day.
