Recently, Jolene and Oliver came in and picked-up their gorgeous wedding album. It really was such a treat to see them and have a nice catch-up as well. We consider our job completed when our clients have a real physical album with a collection of their beautiful photographs, in their hands showing the story of their day and it was no different when these two came in. It was certainly a proud moment for me to see them so happy. Smiles all around. 🙂

We are  photographing Celine and Iain’s wedding this summer in France, so showing folks back home the beauty of the area they have chosen to live was important in their Vancouver engagement photographs. They are fairly new to Vancouver, so we asked them a few questions to help us suggest the perfect location for their engagement photo session. Being fresh to the West Coast and taking their honest answers with a healthy dose of Iain’s dry humour, we knew we had a match with Whtyecliff Park. On one of our recent, gorgeous, supremely sunny Spring days here in Vancouver, we set out and had a good laugh with these two and captured some perfectly West Coast engagement photos for them.

We were sooooo happy to hear it when we found out Maria and Jon were engaged!! Through our circle of friends, we’ve known Maria and Jon for years and have always felt that they were a truly great pair!  This past summer they were married in front of so many friends and their families who came from Vancouver Island and as far away as Sweden. These two live in Yaletown and I love how they really kept their wedding day local to the city they love so much. We simply walked to meet up for their First Look, took their wedding photographs in Yaletown and rode the Aqua Bus to the Olympic village for more wedding photos. Since getting ready, having their photos taken and their ceremony/reception were all within blocks of each other, the whole day was so enjoyable by keeping things simple. Then, after a quick stop in at their lovely room at the Opus hotel, we walked to their wedding ceremony/reception at the Loft in Yaletown. They had a beautiful ceremony in the bar lounge, which felt like a cocktail event, yet ready for a great party! For Justin and I it was extra special, as many of Maria and Jon’s friends are our friends too, which made this an extra nice experience for us too. I’d like to thank Maria and Jon for trusting us to photograph their day as friends and as professional photographers. It was truly a special position for us to be in- to witness and be a part of your super special day.

Jon played a wedding day trick on Maria! He somehow managed to fool Facebook into showing that he had checked in at the Vancouver Airport, moments before he was supposed to meet Maria for their First Look. She knew it was a joke though and responded “…. Are we eloping after all?”

If you are looking for a beautiful oceanside West Coast wedding, Painted Boat Resort in Pender Harbour is an excellent location for a wedding. Sarah and Dustin chose to have their wedding there and even flew in all their guests via Harbour Air Seaplanes, to give their guests the ultimate experience.  It’s such a beautiful little corner of the world and I’m sure everyone enjoyed having the chance to see it from above! How exciting and fun is that!? We can honestly say, their guests were in the best of moods by the time we arrived!  A friend performed their wedding ceremony, with guests watching Sarah and Dustin and overlooked picture perfect Pender Harbour behind them. They celebrated on the lawns of the resort with a tasty meal, heartfelt speeches and a full dance floor well into the night. Having now photographed their engagement session, their wedding and met most of their family and friends, we can honestly say that these two have a lot of fun together, are crazy in love, laugh a lot and make an awesome team!
