This past Saturday, the weather that was forecast was not looking good. There was supposed to be heaps of rain, possibly thunder showers, heavy clouds, wind, and other variations of rain, the weather forecast was simply all over the map! So of course, we location scouted for all the various weather possibilities for the day, even for the slight chance of sun and thank goodness we did, it turned out to be a gorgeous, sunny, sunny day! Kyla arrived at our seaside wedding photo location in a vintage Rolls Royce by A Stylish Arrival. We chose a very private location for their First Look, so that Kyla + Will could simply chat and be themselves- and catch their breath! Later that afternoon, Kyla + Will were married  at the Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver. Kyla planned the day perfectly along with day of coordination by Alicia Keats Wedding + Events. Here are a few Sneak Peek photos from their wedding day.

This Friday, May 16th 2014 was a beautiful, sunny Spring day and more importantly, it was the day Rebecca + Curtis chose to get married! Rebecca selected the 100 year old Sylvia Hotel in downtown Vancouver to get ready with both her longtime friend Lisa and mom at her side. At Brock House, Rebecca + Curtis were married beneath a huge, gorgeous tree by the sea with a deeply meaningful wedding ceremony created by celebrant, Michele Davidson.  Here are a few select photos we wanted to share with you from their day.

When Kate + John requested cherry blossoms for their engagement photo session, of course we said Yes. And when Kate asked if her dog, Guinness – her Irish Wheaten Terrier, could come too, of course we said Yes again! We happen to love dogs too, so were were delighted that he was part of their Spring engagement photo session. So much so, that you’ll see that a third of the photos in this post include Guinness! I couldn’t resist-he’s Adorable! We had their engagement photo session on one of the first warm Vancouver Spring days and had a lovely afternoon getting to know them better and enjoying our beautiful city together.

Whitney + Brian had an incredible wedding day- two days in one really! They wanted to honour both their family backgrounds by having both a Sikh and Western wedding, but instead of having it over multiple days, they chose to have it all in one day! This meant a big, long, awesome day and their family and friends were up for it with heaps of energy! We started the day off with Whitney, her girlfriends and Mom getting ready in their saris along with Whitney’s little Chihuahua- Bear, looking on. At his family home with his parents, sister and two best friends, Brian got ready for the Sikh ceremony and traditions of the day. We planned a quiet, secluded area for their First Look and it was one of those happy tears, full of soooo much love moments that we’ll always remember. Their Sikh wedding ceremony was held at the Alan Emmott Centre in Burnaby. We then all headed over to Richmond to relax a bit, change it all up and prepare for their Western wedding ceremony. We had yet again another 2nd First Look 🙂 which then started off the next portion of their wedding day with their wedding ceremony on the docks at the UBC Boathouse. They had the perfect sunny day with an amazing sunset and these two deserve it. Whitney + Brian are a kind, fun and thoughtful couple and we look forward to capturing the next stage in their lives -they are expecting- later this year. 🙂

Congratulations to you both! When we first met with you we got along so great and chatted for hours and really looked forward to your unique approach to your wedding day. Thank you to Whitney + Brian for choosing us to be a part of your day and capture it for you! It truly was our pleasure and have enjoyed getting to know you two along the way!

We meant to post this lovely photo session of Rebecca + Curtis and their doggie, Brooklyn, ages ago and here it is now, albeit a little late (yes, that’s snow you see!)

Their engagement photo session was at the UBC Endowment Lands and in a very specific location, the area where Curtis proposed! We like to choose locations that have meaning for our couples and this spot certainly hit the mark! I’d like to thank Curtis for taking us here, as Justin and I both felt really privileged to be welcomed into a very special and meaningful, life changing location for them. It was simply a spot in the forest, but for them it will always be a memorable place and now for us too! We’ll never walk past there again without thinking of these two! Of course, their dog Brooklyn came along on the shoot and was easily a star of the session, when she wasn’t off socializing with other dogs that came along the path or being an adventure dog, exploring the forest.

We truly enjoyed our photo session with Rebecca + Curtis (and Brooklyn too!) and look forward to their wedding in May.
