Last week we were featured on the A Million Little Details daily blog. Josh and Claire’s wedding really was a great day! As we started editing through Cynthia and Paul’s Sikh wedding here in Vancouver from the past weekend, we find ourselves regularly saying how gorgeous they looked!! So we wanted to share one of our favourite photographs from their day. Congratulations you two and have a wonderful honeymoon in Europe! We recently received our Spring 2010 copy of Real Weddings Magazine and we were so pleased to see that not one, but TWO of our couples were selected for the playful ‘Marry Me!’ engagement section of the magazine! I always like looking at this part of of each issue as it’s always great to see couples having a great time and knowing that they have their exciting wedding ahead of them this wedding season. We photographed S + R in January while they were in Vancouver (warming up) on a visit from snowy Yellowknife and we captured Joanne and Tony giggling away despite the cool Spring day in February. We are really looking forward to their wedding days later this summer. And for those lucky gals that are meeting with us in the next little while, we’ll have this new issue to give you!
When deciding where to go for Cynthia and Paul’s engagement session, Yaletown turned out to be the perfect choice; nicely urban with some beautiful textures and (maybe more importantly) some great shopping, as that’s what they like to do! These two are always very well dressed and our shoot day was no exception. After having some fun in the Spring sunshine and creating some stylish portraits we headed among the shops for a little walk around and innocent window shopping. Towards the end of the shoot with had flirted with the stylish hats at the Goorin Bros Hat Shop in Yaletown. Thanks to the great staff at the shop for helping us out as lots of ‘Blue Steel’ faces and giggles were to be had trying on some super cool hats. I think Justin and I will be heading back in there for a cool hat each some time soon! We are really looking forward to Cynthia and Paul’s two days of wedding festivities coming up in May. Their amazing wedding will be a mixture of Sikh, Chinese and Western traditions spread over a few days and involving multiple venues. A couple of the locations that we will be shooting at are the Akali Singh Sikh Temple in Vancouver and Hycoft in Shaughnessy. It is sure to be a spectacularly memorable event for everyone involved. Our Lifestyle Engagement sessions include photographing what you love doing together, in this case for Cynthia and Paul, shopping in Yaletown!! Stylish hats at the Goorin Bros Hat Shop in Yaletown.
Csilla and Gabi have decided to get married after being together for 8 years and part of that history together was a year where they both attended SFU, so the top of Burnaby Mountain was the perfect place to have their engagement session. What a cool, fun-loving couple these two are. We loved their energy and fun personalities which really came through in the photographs we created for them. After our shoot and all the laughing we did during their session, we all went out to a great Ethiopian restaurant on Commercial Drive for a yummy platter for four to share and simply hang out. We are really looking forward to their wedding at Westwood Plateau in June, it is sure to be a beautiful wedding day and high energy party afterward.
